Day 1

ARRIVAL/PINNAWALA/DAMBULLA

On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality. Representative from Aakash Asia Ceylon will Welcome you and proceed directly Pinnawala.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage was established by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation in Ninteen Seventy Five for feeding and providing care and sanctuary to orphaned baby elephants that were found in the wild. Tourist can observe the bathing elephants from the board river bank as the herd interact socially, bathing and playing. One of the main attractions at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is to watch baby elephant being bottle fed and well nurtured by their mahout and caretakers. Once you have witnessed these magnificent creatures, proceed to DambullaYou are on your way to the one and only Largest Well Preserved Cave Temple In Sri LankaDambulla cave temple also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, situated in the central part of the country. The rock towers hundred and sixty m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are a total of Hundred and fifty three Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses. The latter include Vishnu and the Ganesha. Day 2

DAMBULLA/SIGIRIYA/GIRITHALE/POLONNARUWA/PASSIKUDAH

After breakfast at the Hotel, step out with your trekking shoes on because you will proceed to climb the Lions Rock in Sigirya

Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the fifth Century Fortress in the Sky which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the six hundred foot high rock. On its summit are the foundations of the Royal Palace, Water Tanks to supply water and all other buildings and at the edges the guardhouses. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of Frescoes of twenty one life sized damsels still shining in their original colors.Later continue towards GirithaleGiritale is a small city in the Polonnaruwa District of Sri Lanka. It used to be a popular tourist destination in the past, Since Two thousand and nine Pasikudah has become a popular tourist destination amongst local and foreigners alike. This is because Passikudah is known to have one of the longest stretches of shallow coastline in the world. In other words, people can walk kilometers into the sea because the water is only a few inches deep and the current is relatively weak compared to the rest of Sri Lanka’s coasts. Nuwara Eliya meaning the city of dawn is the town at highest elevation about Two Thousand m above sea level in Sri Lanka and its tallest peak, Piduruthalagala could be seen from here. The city established by the British in the Nineteenth Century and known as Little England and is a popular holiday destination for Srilankans and tourists due to its cool climate and colonial feel with its little bungalows surrounded by hedgerows.Free afternoon and evening for your own activities or leisure.

NUWARA ELIYA

Soon after your morning meal proceed to the Sita Amman Temple

Seetha Amman Temple is located approximately one kilometre from Hakgala Botanical Garden and five kilometres from Nuwara Eliya. The temple is located in the village of Seetha Eliya also known as Sita Eliya. This place is believed to be the site where Sita was held captive by Vikram king Ravana, and where she prayed daily for Rama to come and rescue her in the Hindu epic, Ramayana. On the rock face across the stream are circular depressions said to be the footprints of Lord Hanuman.Afterwards go towards Lake Gregory.Lake Gregory, sometimes also called Gregory Lake or Gregory Reservoir, is a reservoir in heart of the tea country hill city, Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka.
