Day 1

ARRIVAL/NEGOMBO

On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality; Representative from Aakash Asia Ceylon will Welcome you and proceed directly to Negombo.

Negombo was first used by the Portuguese; the Sinhala name “Meegamuwa” means the “group of bees”. Negombo has a small port, and its economy is mainly based on tourism and its centuries-old fishing industry. Negombo is a traditional fishing town in Sri Lanka, and no wonder the town is a gourmet food lover’s paradise with seafood available in plenty. The town has several buildings that date back to the Dutch and Portuguese colonial era. Attractions in the city include the old Dutch fort gate built in 1672 now a part of the prison, the Dutch Canal which was then a supply route to the Dutch administration, old churches and fishing villages.After the long flight journey from your Homeland you can finally check into your Hotel to get some rest and shut eyes.

Day 2

NEGOMBO/DAMBULLA/MINNERIYA/HABARANA

After your breakfast you can proceed to witness the culture of Sri Lankan Fishermen

This city is known for its centuries old fishing industry, with busy fish markets and long, sandy beaches. Negombo is a westernized, vibrant city and it is one of the major tourist destinations in the country. The main international airport (Bandaranaike International Airport) of Sri Lanka is also situated in the Negombo metropolis. This town is well known for its history of old age architectural churches and buildings left by the Dutch and protégées. On tour completion you will proceed to the largest well preserved Cave Temple in Sri Lanka which is the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple.Dambulla cave temple also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World Heritage Site (1991) in Sri Lanka, situated in the central part of the country. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses. The latter include Vishnu and the Ganesha. Once you have completed your journey around this ancient pilgrimage site you can prepare yourself for some wild life action cause you will be directly escorted to Minneriya Safari Tour! Minneriya National Park is a national park in North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The reason for declaring the area as protected is to protect the catchment of Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. The park is a dry season feeding ground for the elephant population dwelling in forests. Large numbers of Sri Lankan elephants are attracted to grass fields on the edges of the reservoir during the dry season. Elephants gathered here is numbering around 150-200. Some reports account number of elephants to as high as 700. After the spontaneous encounter with the Wild Elephants you will be directed to your Hotel in Habarana for dinner

Day 3

HABARANA/SIGIRIYA/POLONNARUWA/HABARANA

Enjoy your breakfast at the Hotel and step out with your trekking shoes on cause you will proceed to climb the Lions Rock in Sigirya!

Sigiriya is a UNESCO “World Heritage Site” and the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-foot high rock. On its summit are the foundations of the Royal Palace, Water Tanks to supply water and all other buildings and at the edges the guardhouses. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of Frescoes of 21 life sized damsels still shining in their original colors. Once you are done with your tour around king kashyapa’s hideout castle proceed directly to one of the ancient cultural cities in Sri Lanka Polonnaruwa! Polonnaruwa, the 2nd most ancient kingdom of Sri Lanka is an interesting mix of Buddhist and Hindu structures that are a testament to the different kings who reigned over this ancient kingdom. Polonnaruwa rose to prominence between the 11th and 13th centuries and thrived during the reign of the famous monarch, King Parakramabahu I, who did much to create a resplendent city. His greatest achievement was the construction of the sea of Parakrama, a huge water reservoir spanning an area of 6280 acres. This ancient city is one of the best planned archeological relic sites in the country, standing testimony to the discipline and greatness of the Kingdom's first rulers. This is a UNESCO declared World Heritage Site!On completion with the Ancient kingdom (Polonnaruwa) you will be transferred to your Hotel.

Day 4

HABARANA/KANDY

After your breakfast meal you can check out from the Hotel and proceed to the uptown city Kandy!

Kandy the most beautiful city in the island and heart of Sri Lanka, lies in undulating, forested hill country. The pride of the city is the Temple of Tooth, but the idyllic lake in the middle of the town and the world-famous Botanical Garden are also something to write home about. Kandy is very conscious of the historic role which it played as the Last Capital of the Singhalese Kingdom and seat of the Last Singhalese King, Rajasinghe II. Today the town is the intellectual and religious center of Sri Lanka, a result not least of the fact that Buddhists, Hindus, Moors and Christians all co-exist here. Kandy also a UNESCO – World Heritage Site.On arrival commence to Kandy City TourHighlights;Kandy Lake Round, Upper Lake Drive, View Point, Art and Craft Centre, Gem Museum, Batik, Silk and Woodcarving Factories.In the evening you will be escorted to witness the most valued Pilgrim Site of the country the Temple Of Tooth Relic!The Temple of Tooth in Kandy guards the island’s most valuable treasure, one of Buddha’s canine teeth. The relic has been moved several times over the centuries, but now it captivates the followers of the enlightened Buddha in the temple in Kandy. Every year in July / August, during the eleven-day Perahera of Kandy., is it carried through the town on a magnificently decorated elephant.Later evening witness experience a colorful show where you will be taken to mind blowing Sri Lankan culture extravaganza. Including fire walking. Get ready for heavy drum beat and acrobatic act.

Day 5

KANDY/NUWARA ELIYA

Soon after breakfast check out from the hotel, proceed to visit Hanuman Temple in Ramboda.

According to the ancient stories, Ramboda is an area, where the force of Rama’s gathers to fight against King Ravna. The temple was built by the Chinnamaya Mission of Sri Lanka and dedicated to Hanuman. This temple house for 16 feet height statue of Lord Hanuman.Afterward visit Tea Factory and Tea plantation. Tea plantation – Visit a Tea plantation and a Tea Factory where one the best tea in the world is produced. You will be told all about the process of manufacturing tea and see how tea is graded. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon Tea in the factory.On completion proceed to Nuwara Eliya.Nuwara Eliya meaning “the city of dawn” is the town at highest elevation (about 2000m above sea level) in Sri Lanka and its tallest peak, Piduruthalagala (2580m) could be seen from here. The city established by the British in the 19th Century and known as “Little England” and is a popular holiday destination for Srilankans and tourists due to its cool climate and colonial feel with its little bungalows surrounded by hedgerows.

NUWARA ELIYA

Early in the morning around 6.00 Am you can check out from the Hotel with a breakfast packet and put on your trekking shoes on cause you will directly proceed to Great Worlds End in Nuwara Eliya!

World's End is located within the Horton Plains National Park in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. It is a sheer cliff, with a drop of about 4,000 feet. It is one of the most visited parts of the Park, and a key tourist attraction in the Nuwara Eliya District and the country at large.On this tour you can enjoy the heavenly clouds, misty atmosphere, Sambar Deers

Day 7

NUWARA ELIYA/BENTOTA

Have a pleasant morning meal at the Hotel and check out with your Sunglasses on cause you will be directed straight to Bentota for some good old coastal scenario!

Bentota is a coastal town in Sri Lanka, located in the Galle District of the Sothern Province, governed by an Urban Council. Bentota is situated on the southern bank of the Bentota River mouth. Bentota is a tourist attraction, with a local airport (Bentota River Airport) and a handful of world class hotels. It is a destination for water sport. Bentota also delivers an ancient art of healing called Ayurveda. Bentota is famous for its toddy production, an alcoholic beverage made from coconut nectar. It also has a turtle hatchery, located on Induruwa beach. Upon arrival enjoy water sports activities at Bentota River (OPTIONAL).

Day 8

BENTOTA / GALLE / BENTOTA

Soon after breakfast at the hotel, proceed to visit Dutch Fort in Galle

Dutch Fort at Galle, close to the island’s southernmost point, has the distinction of being the best-preserved sea fort in South Asia. The fall of Galle to the Dutch in 1640 saw its fortifications consolidated further along the lines of the fortified cities of Europe. Wide roads and all necessary facilities within its walls including an intricate sewage system that was ahead of its time. In 1988 by the UNESCO declared Old Town of Galle and its Fortification as a World Heritage Site.On completion proceeds to Balapitiya for Boat Safari at Madu River in Balapitiya (OPTIONAL).Madu River (Ganga) is situated in Balapitiya, along the country’s southern cast, within the Galle District of the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. It opens to the Indian ocean Madu River is a very wide and a beautiful river in Sri Lanka. It is in the wet zone of the country with a high bio-diversity. Madu River has been proclaimed a Ramsa wetland in the world in 2004.After a leisurely day out in the sun you can proceed back to your Hotel.
