ARRIVAL / RATNAPURA – (120KM – approximately 3-hour drive)

On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality; Representative from Aakash Asia Ceylon will Welcome you and proceed directly to Ratnapura and check in to the hotel.
*Ratnapura meaning “City of Gems”. It is a major city in Sri Lanka. It is the capital city of Sabaragamuwa Province, as well as the Ratnapura District and is a traditional center for the Sri Lankan gem trade. It is located on the Kalu Ganga in south-central Sri Lanka and 103km away from Colombo. It is the center of a long-established industry of precious stone mining including rubies, sapphires and other gems. Apart from gem mining, the city is known to produce rice and fruit. Large plantation of tea and rubber surround the city. Tea grown in this region is called low-country tea. There is a well-established tourism industry in Ratnapura. Nearby Sinharaja rain Forest, Udawalawe National Park, Kitulgala and Adam’s Peak are especially among tourists.

RATNAPURA / ELLA – (120KM – approximately 4-hour drive)
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Ella. En-route visit Gemological Museum in Ratnapura.
*The Gemological Museum at Ratnapura house an array of fabulous samples of precious and semi-precious gems; Rubies, Sapphires, Amethyst. Among the other exhibits are the images, artefacts and tools that elaborate the history and the processes of the industry.
On completion proceed to Ella.
*Ella is a small town in the Badulla District in Sri Lanka. It is governed by an Urban Council. It is approximately 200km East of Colombo. And is situated at an elevation of 1,040m above sea level. The area has a rich biodiversity, dense with numerous varieties of flora and fauna. Ella is surrounded by hills covered with cloud forerst and tea plantations. The Ella Gap allows views across the southern plains of Sri Lanka.
Upon arrive proceed to visit Nine Arches Bridge in Ella.
*The Nine Arches Bridge is one of the best examples of British Railway constructions when Ceylon was a colony of the British Empire.
On completion proceed to visit Little Adam’s Peak
*Little Adams Peak whether considering the word Little it is named after the sacred Adams Peak regarding the similarity between the two mountains. Therefore, the mountain was called as “Little Adams Peak”. It is 1,141m in height. Little Adams Peak attracts many travelers who come to Sri Lanka. Gradually with an easy hike up to the mountain of Little Adams Peak you can consummation a worth panoramic view. You must walk through lush green tea plantation, waterfalls and paddy fields while enjoying the sceneries.

ELLA / ARUGAM BAY – (140KM – approximately 3-hour drive)
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Arugam Bay.
*Arugam Bay is a bay situated on the Indian Ocean in the dry zone of Sri Lanka’s southeast coast. Tourism in Arugam Bay is dominated by surf tourism. This area is home to several quality surf breaks, the most popular of which being “Main Point” located towards the south of the bay. This is a right-hand point break, with a rock/reef bottom, and has several sections with occasional barrels. Other breaks in the area include Whiskey Point and Pottuvil Point to the north, and Elephant Rock, Peanut Farm and Okanda to the south. These breaks have attracted a steady stream of international tourists for several decades. Arugam Bay has a good local surf scene and is home to some of Sri Lanka's most talented surfers and in recent years surfers from Arugam Bay have dominated national competitions. However, tourists are also attracted by the local beaches, lagoons, historical temples. Arugam Bay is also the gateway and the only road access to the Yala East National Park. This area is known as Kumana.

ARUGAM BAY / YALA – (160KM – approximately 4-hour drive)
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Yala.
*Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and adjoining parks. The blocks have individual name such as Ruhunu National park (Block 1) and Kumana National park or Yala East for the adjoining areas. It is situated in the southeast region of the country and lies in Southern province and Uva Province. The park covers 979 square kilometers and is located about 300 kilometers from Colombo. Yala was designated as a Wildlife Sanctuary in 1900, and along with Wilpattu was one of the first two national parks in Sri Lanka, having been designated in 1938. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan Leopards and aquatic birds. Yala is one of the 70 Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in Sri Lanka. Yala harbours 215 bird’s species including six endemic species of Sri Lanka. The number of mammals that has been recorded from the park is 44 and it has one of the highest Leopards densities in the world.

YALA / GALLE – (160KM – approximately 4-hour drive)
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Galle. En-route visit Stilt Fishing at Koggala.
*Koggala is a small coastal town, situated at the edge of a lagoon on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in Galle District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka, governed by an Urban Council. Koggala is bounded on one side by a reef and on the other by a large lake, Koggala Lake, in to which the numerous tributaries of the Koggala Oya drain. It is approximately 139km South of Colombo and is situated at elevation of 3 meters above the sea level.
Afterward proceed to visit Dutch Fort in Galle.
*Dutch Fort at Galle, close to the island’s southernmost point, has the distinction of being the best-preserved sea fort in South Asia. A living heritage site, this 90-hectare (222 acre) attraction is a superb blend of architecture, with fortifications that resemble those in the coastal areas of Portugal. The fall of Galle to the Dutch in 1640 saw its fortifications consolidated further along the lines of the fortified cities of Europe. The Dutch and the English colonial styles are evident in the deep verandahs of houses supported by timber or masonry pillars. Originally established by the Portuguese in the 16th Century, it reached its zenith under Dutch rule in the 18th Century, providing spacious housing, wide roads and all necessary facilities within its walls including an intricate sewage system that was ahead of its time.

GALLE / AIRPORT – (160KM – approximately 3-hour drive)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transfer to the Colombo International Airport to catch your flight to Maldives accompanied with all the happy Sri Lankan memories.
